Plots

Individual and Group Plots

Our garden has a number of individual and group plots, that people can self manage and harvest from. LDCG full plots are approximately 3 x 1.5 metres. With group plots in various larger sizes. Individuals can rent one plot each unless pre-arranged. Group Plot holders can consist of many genres, from family’s, neighbours, friends, colleagues, youth, senior, special needs, student and community groups, the options are open. Benefit by sharing the load!

To become an individual or group plot holder you need to also become a financial member of Lakeside Drive Community Garden. (See below for full details).

Show your expression of interest in becoming a plot holder, by filling out the form below. A coordinator will get in touch with further details. We are grateful for the City of Darwin – COVID Response grant for supporting this community project.

Membership This entitles you to attend invited specific workshops and working bees for free, garden in the communal sections, use our tools and facilities and receive our newsletter updates. As a member of the garden you are also entitled to vote at our AGM and nominate for a position on the Management Committee (board). 2020-21 membership fees are: $15 (waged) or $10 (concession).

The best way to become a member is to turn up to one of our weekly Sunday volunteer sessions, check out the garden and sign up. Or follow the links on the website.

The plots represent a source of income, which only partially covers the cost of managing the gardens. Expenses incurred by LDCG include but are not limited to water, mowing, tools and equipment, insurance, accounting and information technology.

Fill out the expression of interest form, and someone will get in touch to go though details and if plots are available we will send you registration details. If all plots are rented we will add you to our waiting list. Alternatively, you can email us. Welcome to your community garden. We look forward to hearing from you!
